Bashar Hanna, PhD, has spent 4 years as the president and chief executive officer of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. He recently took a similar position with Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, which he leads as interim president. Bashar Hanna, PhD, has held both teaching and lead administrative roles dating back to his time at Temple University, his alma mater, where he worked as associate dean of the College of Science and Technology and as an instructor in the Department of Mathematics, among other positions. Prior to becoming the president of Bloomsburg University, he spent 5 years as the vice president for academic affairs and dean of faculty at Delaware Valley University.
Mr. Hanna graduated with distinction from Temple University with a bachelor of arts in biology. He continued his education at the same school, ultimately earning a master of arts and doctoral degree in the fields of developmental biology and developmental neurobiology, respectively. When he is not overseeing operations at Bloomsburg and Lock Haven, he enjoys playing soccer and attending his children’s sporting events.
