The partnership between Jerry Couvaras and Basil Couvaras is synergistic. Jerry Couvaras spent many years as an investment banker in Johannesburg, South Africa; at one point, he was approached as a possible lender for a number of food-related businesses. Jerry Couvaras took an equity position in these businesses and quickly learned the basics of running a successful restaurant. He now serves as the President and CEO of the Atlanta Bread Company franchise. As the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Basil Couvaras also brings his own unique experience to the company. Basil Couvaras had an extensive operations experience in the restaurant industry when he co-founded Atlanta Bread Company with Jerry Couvaras. Additionally, Basil Couvaras holds a BA in Communications and Industrial Psychology from Rand Afrikaans University and a post-graduate degree in Industrial Psychology from Johannesburg, South Africa’s University of Witwatersrand. Together, Jerry Couvaras and Basil Couvaras have made Atlanta Bread Company one of the more successful casual dining franchises in the United States. Atlanta Bread Company has received multiple awards from polls like the Zagat Fast-Food Survey and magazines such as Parents, Health, and Fast Casual. In addition to serving innovative, healthy and creative fare to its customers, Atlanta Bread Company remains dedicated to its mission of philanthropy.
