Basma Atassi

I am a journalist at Al Jazeera English reporting from the Middle East. I won the Anna Lindh Foundation's "Mediterranean Journalist of the Year Award" for my work Syria's Aleppo and the "Online Media Award" in London for technical innovation.

I am a fellow at Oxford University, and hold a BA in politics from the American University of Beirut and an MSc in human rights from London School of Economics.
