About Me

I am Bassey Effiong Ndon, a multifaceted Nigerian creative professional, deeply rooted in the realms of visual arts, music, and academia. With a passion for telling African stories through symbolic abstraction and soulful sound, my journey as a contemporary artist, gospel musician, digital creator, and lecturer reflects a life committed to inspiring transformation through creativity and faith.

Born on November 6, 1974, in Ibadan, Nigeria, I trace my heritage to Ita Uruan in Akwa Ibom State. My foundational years in education began at Emmanuel College Primary School, Ibadan, and FCDA Staff School, Abuja, before attending Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene, where I graduated in 1992. I later earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Painting from the University of Uyo, where I now proudly serve as a lecturer in the Department of Fine and Industrial Arts, specializing in painting and drawing. I obtained a PhD in Painting from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria in August, 2025.

As a visual artist, I specialize in abstract painting and digital art, exploring indigenous aesthetics, African symbolism, and spiritual metaphors. My works have been showcased in exhibitions across Nigeria and reside in private collections. I am also a collector of African art, curating pieces that reflect both traditional depth and contemporary relevance.

In the world of music, I am a passionate gospel singer, songwriter, and worship minister, with sounds that blend Afrobeat, R\&B, Slow Rock, and Contemporary Gospel. My songs are born from dreams, spiritual encounters, and life's many dimensions, conveying messages of healing, identity, and divine purpose.

Beyond the canvas and the stage, I am a Pentecostal minister, ordained under the Harvest Ministerial Fellowship in 2000. I live to stir awakening and excellence in others—whether through teaching, preaching, or the creative arts. As an Ibibio man, my cultural heritage informs my artistic language, and my faith fuels my purpose.
