Abdoulie Batchilly
Student, Volunteer, and Hospital Assistant in Seattle, Washington
Hello, I’m Abdoulie Batchilly. I’m currently a student at the University of Washington Bothell, living in Seattle, Washington. I am a fan of fitness, music, and coffee. On a sunny day, I enjoy hiking at either Rattlesnake ledge or Twin Falls and enjoy the scenery. My hobbies are playing video games and volunteering at my local food shelter.
I work at Harborview Medical Center as a Patient Service Specialist/ Hospital Assistant.
My goal after I graduate with my degree in Health Studies/ Minor in Chemistry, is I plan to apply to nursing school. An possibly extend my education and get a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and maybe even teach.
After countless hours on the hospital, floor interning as a Cope Health Scholar or Volunteer Services and witnessing the effort and commitment that the nurses put into their patient no matter how stressful is what caught my eye.
The patient interaction that nurses receive while at the hospital is the reason why I chose nursing. Being able to be with the patient through their journey in the hospital and help them get through any difficulties or comfort them.
My goal is to work in the Emergency Department as an Er Nurse. I believe that my ability to think fast on my feet and stay calm in stressful situations will benefit the most on that unit. Also, through rotation on to that floor, it seemed to be the best match for my work tempo.
