As an experienced Polish linguist, I have been providing localisation services for the past 20 years, working as a teacher, an agency manager, copy-writer, a language and culture consultant and editor, a translator and a translation lecturer.
In 2005 I set up my own localisation agency called PolkaDot: Publishing for Poland. Polka in Polish means a Polish woman. Dot with it’s association with a punctuation mark was a perfect connotation to what I do professionally, and this is how PolkaDot was created.
Based in London and liaising with professionals in the UK and Poland PolkaDot was successfully delivering a high quality and reliable localisation service, adapting multi-channel content (print, web, mobile, tv, radio and social media) for global clients.
In 2012 PolkaDot was re-launched as a multi-lingual, multi-cultural and multi-coloured Polkadot Global to provide a full range of services from local research and knowledge gathering, to international content strategy and localisation – seamlessly joining the dots between content, language and culture.
Cat-lover, soup-wizard and a proud mum of an 11 year old bilingual, budding musician. If I am not listening to my violin virtuoso, I am spending my free time watching Nordic crime dramas, eating French bread and German sausage, drinking South American wine, polishing off oriental delicacies and reading about the cultures, languages and ideas related to people around the world.
