Ben is a serial entrepreneur passionate about creating value through mass personalization. He is particularly drawn to industries where the historical “one-size-fits-all” approach is ripe for disruption - such as healthcare and education.

Ben is currently CEO & Co-founder of Firecracker, a next-generation adaptive learning and assessment platform that serves both learners and their institutions. He is also a Venture Partner at Wolfram Ventures, a fund that leverages its partnership with Wolfram to source, evaluate, and develop portfolio companies.

Before Firecracker, Ben was CEO & Founder of Firefly Health, one of the first social networking websites dedicated to patients and caregivers. He started the company with a Co-founder of Facebook and grew it to over 40,000 members. He was previously Executive Director of the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children and an Administrative Resident & Six Sigma Greenbelt at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Ben was premed and studied biology and health policy at Harvard. In a prior life, Ben was a sponsored skateboarder and a professional soccer player. He lives with his wife, son, and Scottish Terrier in a freshman dorm in Harvard Yard (Ben’s wife Kanoe is a residential advisor). He likes to tell students that, if they work really hard, in 15 years they can be like him and move back into the dorms.
