As a child, I competed in Gymnastics and Cross Country. I joined the U.S. Navy when I was 19, where I served aboard the USS Ronald Reagan as a nuclear electrician. During my four years of service, I married my Husband and we had our first child. Our son was born with a potentially fatal heart defect, HLHS, and I chose to leave the Navy early to become a stay-at-home mom. I have always stayed active and motivated and I completed in my first marathon when my son was 1½. I became pregnant with our daughter soon after. When she was a year old, I finished my first Obstacle Course Race (OCR), the Spartan Charlotte Sprint 2014. I went on to complete three OCR’s by the end the year. At the beginning of 2015, after realizing my potential as an Elite OCR Athlete, I began a more rigorous training regiment, our family switched to a Plant Base Vegan diet, and I enter myself in the Elite Women’s Competitions. My first racing weekend I placed on the podium and soon became a top 20 contender for the Spartan World Championships 2015. It is through God’s grace that my path has led me here. The Lord blessed me with my driven mindset to achieve, He has led me to my husband, He has kept my son healthy and safe through several open-heart surgeries, and He blessed us with our daughter. Now the Lord has placed me on a path to be able to inspire others and motivate them to live well through the mind, body, and soul.
