Hi my name is Harrison Kolander and I'm interested in a vast number of different topics and hobbies. However, what stands above the rest is my love for flyfishing. Flyfishing is something that I discovered when I was a Sophomore in highschool and I was immediately hooked. As opposed to traditional fishing, Flyfishing you are constantly moving and walking up and down the river in search for the perfect pocket of water where the fish like to hangout. Something I love most about flyfishing is its versatility. The way that it allows you to fish small streams and ponds for little brooke trout in the Mountains of Colorado and also fish 180 pound tarpoon in the flats of Belize is absolutely fascinating. Also, the use of live bait is never needed while flyfishing so the “bait” consists of wires and feathers that are tied to the hook to imitate the look of a plethora of species of flys, bugs, fish, worms, and even Leeches. The art and skill of the casting make it a difficult challenge to perfect even after years of flyfishing. I have traveled to amazing places on my journey to catch the perfect fish from the backwoods of Utah to the Texas Coast. What I have learned from my experience flyfishing is that being nature, no matter what you are doing or where you are, is the best thing you can do for yourself. Unplugging and going flyfishing in the woods with friends or even solo has allowed me to have nice moments of peace in a chaotic world.
