Beat Kidd (real name Stephen Kilatya), is a critically-acclaimed Record Producer, Sound Engineer, Record Executive, DJ, and Songwriter from Kenya. Known for his hard-hitting trap beats, deep 808s, and signature clean sound, Beat Kidd has also become one of the key figures behind the modern Dancehall wave dominating Kenya’s music scene.

He is best known for producing “Chinje” by Toxic Lyrikali, which has surpassed 11 million streams across platforms, and “Thugnificent” by Toxic Lyrikali, with over 6 million streams — both cementing his reputation as one of the most influential young producers in East Africa. His excellence was further recognized when he was awarded Producer of the Year at the HipHop Awards.
Beat Kidd has worked with a wide range of Kenyan artists including Toxic, Lyrikali, Ebola Mkuu, Mastar VK, Metro Stunna, Kapitani, Shekina Karen, Motif Di Don, and many more. His work continues to shape the sound of Afrotrap, Dancehall, Hip Hop, and experimental fusion across the continent.

As the founder and creative head of ESYDE Entertainment, he’s leading a new generation of creatives and pushing Kenyan music to global standards. Currently pursuing studies at the University of Nairobi, he balances artistry, management, and technical mastery — always innovating and elevating every artist he works with.
