Beatriz Gaminde was born in Mexico City. Her work is well known for its artistic quality and proposal. She is one of the most recognized watercolorists in Mexican Contemporary Art.
Gaminde has a solid academic career: as the first training she studied the Bachelor of Graphic Design, under the direction of renowned contemporary mexican artists and intellectuals. She studied watercolor with Maestro Guati Rojo. Gaminde has made several Lithography and Engraving works, and participated in different painting workshops, Art History , History of Cultures , Mexican Art , Surrealism, Conceptual Art, Mexican Music History, and recently Art Market Valuation and Consultant Art Collections training.
Master in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (2001 - 2005). In order to achieve knowledge of human behavior related with art and creativity.
Beatriz Gaminde was the Director of the National Watercolor Museum " Alfredo Guati Rojo" (2004- 2013), first museum in the world dedicated to this technique, worldwide leader, which organizes important national and international exhibitions. Gaminde’s leading rol, has been remarkable, she has promoted exchanges with different countries and has established agreements with some states of the Mexican Republic in order to present itinerant exhibitions.
She teaches, drawing, watercolour , and human figure since 1998. She is frecuently invited to make some watercolor workshops. Recently, she was invited by Conaculta to give some Seminars of Visual Arts Education, Creativity and Cultural Administration..
She has been invitated as an Art Jury in some Contests, and as a Conferencist about Mexican Watercolor development in Colombia, Ecuador, Serbia and Mexico.
