I was born and raised in San Diego, Calif., and moved to attend school over 1,800 miles away. This move reflects my interest in traveling. I jump at any opportunity to visit somewhere new, even if it is just the next town over.
I am a senior studying public relations at Union University in Jackson, Tenn. I currently work as the managing editor for our campus newspaper, the Cardinal & Cream. I was a participant in the Public Relations Student Society of America.
I am a photojournalism minor, which allows me to turn a hobby into something that I can incorporate into my future career. I am experienced in film and digital photography, which can be seen on my blog. My photography has been recognized at the Southwestern Photojournalism Conference.
I was an intern at an exotic animal sanctuary in Alpine, Calif., called Lions, Tigers and Bears. This experience not only piqued my passion for animals and the environment, but it expanded my professional skills through event planning, being a tour guide and managing the animal encounters area.
In my free time, I enjoy journaling, photography, expanding my record collection and scouring the local Goodwill for novels and film cameras.
