Lily & Sparrow Primitives

Finding Beauty at Home in Massachusetts

Hi ! I’m Becky… a New England lover, antique enthusiast, stitcher, furniture painter, wife, and mom of two pretty amazing little girls. I love to find old pieces that are ready to be thrown to the trash and give them a new purpose. I especially love pieces that have a story to them, a little rough around the edges, a little distressed, not perfect, but say “I still am can be used, there is more life left in me”. When I began contemplating starting this blog I just wanted it to be a place for me to post about things I find inspiration in and ways to inspire others! One day I heard the soft whispering “you were created for more”. There is nothing that brings me more joy than to work with my hands and create something beautiful. It is my own sense of therapy. Why Lily & Sparrow Primitives? Well, primitives are my passion and encompass my love for antiques. Lily & Sparrow comes from the parables that Jesus spoke of in Matthew and Luke. “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” Luke 12:27, ESV. “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” Matthew 6:26, ESV . These verses spoke to me and said… “There is beauty in the small things and I care about every detail in your life”. God longs for us to feel passionate about our lives, He longs for us to use our creativity in amazing ways. This blog is an outlet for my passions and my hope is that it inspires others to be creative in their own lives.

Xoxo
