Gerard Beirne lectures on the BA Writing and Literature Program, ATU Sligo. He has published three novels, a collection of short stories, and three collections of poetry. A new novel, The Thickness of Ice, is forthcoming from Baraka Books in 2024. A Hennessy Award winner, he has been shortlisted for the Danuta Gleed Literary Award, the Bord Gais Irish Book Awards, and Kerry Group Irish Fiction Award. His story, Sightings of Bono, was adapted as a short film featuring Bono as himself.
