Gerard Beirne is an Irish writer now living in Canada where he teaches at the University of New Brunswick and is a Fiction Editor with The Fiddlehead literary magazine. His most recent novel Charlie Tallulah has just been published by Oberon Press.He has published two other novels including The Eskimo in the Net (Marion Boyars) shortlisted for the Kerry Group Irish Fiction Award and selected as Book of the Year by The Daily Express literary editor, "scandalously ignored by the Man Booker judges...". He has published two collections of poetry. His short story Sightings of Bono was adapted as a film short featuring Bono. He is a past winner of the New Irish Writer of the Year Award.
