I am Co-Founder, Gallery Owner & Manager of Xochi Art Gallery, based in Vale de Amoreira, Manteigas, Portugal, where I work across contemporary art, artist development, collecting and corporate art leasing.
I have more than 35 years' experience as a non-fiction author, publishing consultant and art-industry professional, and am the author of 18 published non-fiction books. My current work focuses particularly on the business of art and how artists can build sustainable, commercially viable careers.
I am the author of How to Price, Market and Sell Your Art: A Guide for Emerging Artists, a practical guide to pricing, marketing and selling artwork. I am also developing further books focused on the economics of an artist's career, including art pricing and the different ways artists can generate income from their work.
My experience in the art sector includes exhibition development, artist promotion, curation and international art management. I previously managed the career of an abstract artist, overseeing exhibitions, promotional strategy and professional development across Europe. This hands-on experience continues to inform my work with artists, collectors and businesses.
Through Xochi Art Gallery, I present local and international contemporary art to collectors and businesses. I also provide corporate art leasing, giving businesses and hospitality spaces a more flexible way to access original art without purchasing it outright.
Alongside the gallery, I write about the business of art, artist income, pricing, galleries, selling, licensing and alternative revenue streams through Xochi.art and my Substack.
My work brings together art, business and strategy — helping artists understand the commercial realities of an art career while creating opportunities for collectors and businesses to engage with contemporary art.
