Benjamin Geisler, M.D., M.P.H. is a board-certified internist and practices hospital medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is an international medical graduate from Germany (Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin) and completed a categorical internal medicine residency at NYU School of Medicine. Prior to that, Ben was a post-doctoral research fellow in decision science at Massachusetts General Hospital; this was followed by a Master's in Public Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Ben is also a health services researcher, decision-analytic modeler, and health economist; he serves as a co-editor of a peer-reviewed journal in those fields, "Value in Health". His research had applications across medical conditions although most were in cardiovascular disease. Ben enjoys teaching as well as running quality improvement/patient safety (QI/PS) projects. Recently, Ben has become interested in "big data" and how to use routinely collected health information for research and QI/PS.

Ben's ultimate career goal is to be an active citizen in the academic hospital medicine community.
