Benjamin Geisler, M.D., M.P.H. is a board-certified internist and practices hospital medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is an international medical graduate from Germany (Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin) and completed a categorical internal medicine residency at NYU School of Medicine. Prior to that, Ben was a post-doctoral research fellow in decision science at Massachusetts General Hospital; this was followed by a Master's in Public Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Ben is also a health services researcher, decision-analytic modeler, and health economist; he served as a co-editor of a peer-reviewed journal in those fields, "Value in Health", for nine years and is currently on the editorial board of "Pharmacoeconomics". His research had applications across medical conditions although most were in cardiovascular disease. Ben enjoys teaching as well as running quality improvement/patient safety (QI/PS) projects. Recently, Ben has become interested in "big data" and how to use routinely collected health information for research and QI/PS.

Ben's ultimate career goal is to be an active citizen in the academic hospital medicine community.
