Ben is an artist designer engaged in professional practice, education and academic research working with an interdisciplinary orientation including fine arts, graphic, product, and architectural design. His studio practice has a symbiotic relationship with critical and contextual studies, and his practical studio work employs techniques and processes such as assemblage, bricolage, and collage.
He studied at London College of Printing (Foundation); Central School of Speech and Drama (Dip Fine Art, Painting); Chelsea College of Art & Design (BA Hons Spatial Design); Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (MA Design); and Goldsmiths University College London (Ph.D published in 2004 as Design Ideation - The conceptual sketch in a digital design culture; for summary, see Publications, below).
Ben is currently associate lecturer at Central Saint Martins, School of Communication, Product, and Spatial Design, and artist in residence at Middlesex University, School of Arts and Education. He holds a Pg Cert in teaching and learning, is an accredited visiting tutor at the Open University, and official coach at the University of the Arts London.
