I am a European Patent Attorney at Mewburn Ellis LLP specialising in intellectual property matters relating to biotechnology. I am interested in helping clients to protect, develop and maximise the value of their research.
My research background is in genetics and plant biotechnology specifically. This included a PhD at the University of Cambridgewhich focussed on dissecting the molecular mechanisms underpinning leaf development and gene expression in C4 plants, with an emphasis on developing strategies for engineering the C4 photosynthetic pathway into C3 crop systems to improve their productivity.
I work with a range of clients from multinational corporations and SMEs to universities and spin-outs, across a broad range of biotech subject matter but have particular experience in the areas of gene editing tools, nucleic acid technologies, biologics, nucleic acid therapeutics, genetic testing, pharmaceuticals and plant biotechnologies.
