Ben D. Craver

San Antonio, Texas

Ben D. Craver is Professor of Religion and Philosophy and Assistant Executive Director and Dean at Wayland Baptist University’s San Antonio (TX) campus. He earned a BBA degree in accounting from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M University, Commerce) in 1972; an MDiv from Southwestern Seminary in 1986 and the PhD degree from Southwestern in 1994.

He enjoys working with faculty and students and teaches a number of graduate and undergraduate religion and theology courses. He is a member of the Association for the Scientific Study of Religion, National Association of Baptist Professors of Religion, the Society of Christian Philosophers, and the Baptist Association of Philosophy Teachers. He has published more than a dozen scholarly articles and book reviews.

Outside the classroom, Ben is 5th Air Wing Chaplain in the Texas State Guard/Texas Military Forces and frequently serves as an interim pastor at local Baptist churches .

Ben is married to Ginny who is an Advisor at Wayland’s San Antonio campus. They have four grown children and five grandchildren . They enjoy traveling and sampling new restaurants in San Antonio.
