Benjamin Dictus

research scientist in Durham, North Carolina

I am excited to be at NCSU and working on my doctorate in the Higher Education Administration program as of August 2015. I love education and believe that we need to reinvest and recommit to it, at all levels, as a country in America. In particular, I endorse educating in a classical, liberal arts fashion.

I also work as a research scientist for Eurofins doing work with bees - apis mellifera. I do so to further challenge myself, connect more deeply with what I see as important to our collective future, and to ensure an important link to our food system is safe in this country.

Finally, I pursue minimalist living and built a tiny house with my wonderful wife Cass. It further challenges me and helps me realize what is important in this short life we have on this planet (the answer is rather obvious - people and relationships).

Graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Master of Arts - College Student Personnel as well as a graduate level Certificate in Organizational Change. It all began as a Leadership Consultant for my fraternity - Phi Delta Theta where I had the opportunity to visit over 45 universities in the Midwest in a single academic year (for two years in a row!)

On the side, play/coach rugby, love my miniature poodles, cook, garden, read, work on pursuing a minimalism lifestyle, and brew beer/mead.
