I have been to Ireland many times during my life. Ireland is my mother’s home country, and I have a lot of friends and family living there. Even as an infant, my parents would take me on long Delta flights across the Atlantic so we could enjoy our summer vacations with people that we do not get to see very often.

Ireland is a very special place to me. I love being able to take in all the beautiful sights the country has to offer. Throughout my many trips, thirteen to be exact, I have explored many different locations within the country. Whether it is peering off the edge of a jagged cliff or taking a tour of an ancient castle, Ireland, although it is a small country, provides many opportunities for spending quality time with family.

Despite the plentiful sightseeing opportunities, family is the main reason why I enjoy traveling across the Atlantic so often. My grandmother was the eldest of sixteen children, so one could imagine how many people there are to visit. It is always amazing catching up with aunts, uncles, or distant cousins that I might only be able to see every couple of years.

In the future, I hope that I can continue visiting my friends and family in Ireland. My travels have allowed me to experience a new culture and have allowed me to learn more about my family’s history and background. These experiences and the people I have been able to meet have helped shape me into the person I am today.
