Ben Andersen
Student in Grand Forks, North Dakota
Hello! I'm a senior (one spring semester remaining) marketing and business management student at the University of North Dakota in the tundra that is Grand Forks, ND. I find myself to be hard-working and driven individual that will do whatever it takes to put myself in a position to succeed.
Over the past two years I've had an opportunity to gain valuable experience through three amazing internships. Currently, I live in Las Vegas, Neveda where I'm an intern for Caesars Entertainment and the World Series of Poker. I’m truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with the staff that manages the largest annual poker tournament series in the world. One of my primary dutieswith the WSOP is managing their various social media platforms including their Facebook page that has over 430,000 followers. Just the otherday I had the chance to meet Michael Phelps and ask him a couple questions about his time with the WSOP. I proceeded to write a Facebook post about his poker history, the post reached over 105,000 Facebook users. Also, I’m working very close with world renowned poker professional, Daniel Negreanu and his producer to create his daily WSOP YouTube VLOGs. Another one of my other primary duties is toregularly update WSOP.com using our Content Management System with player and results data. So far I’ve learned a ton from my peers andI’m living the dream considering poker is a very big passion of mine.
During my junior year of college, I had the pleasure and opportunity of interning with my Universities marketing athletic department. I absolutely loved this position because it gave me great experience inmanaging sporting events as well as the opportunity to mature as a marketing student. I am very proud to share the promotion that I created start to finish. It’s called NoDak Nation’s Amazing Race. It’s a two-month long promotion that stimulated fan involvement and attendance. This was something that I wasn’t required to do but I felt it was a great way of getting fans to games as well as having fun doing it. This position allowed me to experience over 250+ hours of live entertainment as well as the opportunity to manage 50+ halftime/ intermission.
