Benjamin left France at age 23 and has since lived and worked in 9 countries over the past 18 years in key leadership positions.
From his geek-ish early years with tons of computer programming & statistical study and two masters in his pocket (Business management; Economics & Finance), his baptism of fire was in Morocco, where he successfully turned around the local subsidiary of the DMC group over 3 years. He was the youngest GM in the company. He then took a Business Development position in Spain and turned it into DMC's fastest growing country, for two years running, by cleverly targeting only one specific competitor.
Joining Coats in 2001 to drive their ailing consumer division in Spain, Benjamin delivered the first year on year sales growth of the past 7 years, restoring the sales team's self-confidence. He was then offered to relocate to Colombia and discovered there the joys of bullet proof cars and defensive driving. Over the next 3 years, where he was in charge of Sales and Marketing for the Andean & Central America, a perfectly tuned management team orchestrated the group's best business performance ever achieved in the region.
Back in Europe in 2006 and now 4 languages fluently, Benjamin was given the challenge to turnaround the Group's failing local companies. First in Italy then in Sweden, where the businesses were in serious need of restructuring and alignment with the Group's marketing strategy. Strengthening his crisis management skills, while redesigning local organisations, he drastically reduced costs to stabilise the businesses and position them for growth.
Having been in functional marketing roles since 2010, Benjamin is now helping Coats define its consumer strategy, specialising on digital business models and online brand presence. Thanks to comprehensive offline and online consumer multi touch points marketing strategies, the division is now the most forward thinking industry leader online.
