Benjamin Garnett is a communications, online marketing, and social media management professional based in central South Carolina. He holds a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Louisville, a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Otterbein University, and a graduate certification in Leadership & Management from the University of Maryland, Global Campus.
Benjamin has a great deal of experience in fields including public relations and media, client management, event management, speech writing, editing, & delivery, and public speaking. While earning his Master's Degree, he completed a semester of instruction at the University of Louisville, where he taught Public Speaking at the undergraduate level.
Benjamin works for the U.S. Army, serving as a musician, Non-Commissioned Officer, and Human Resources manager with the 282D Army Band at Ft. Jackson SC. His military background has given him a great deal of education and experience in areas of operations, public affairs, leadership, administration, operational security, unit safety, recruiting, and retention. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Columbia Green, which is a central South Carolina non-profit environmental organization.
Benjamin is an accomplished musician, with over 20 years of experience as a vocalist and a trumpet player. He was one of the first soldiers in the history of the U.S. Army to earn the "Army Musician - Vocalist" Skill Identifier. As a trumpet player, he's recorded for and landed stage time with the Villebillies, a Louisville band recently signed to Sony Records.
Benjamin also has a great deal of experience in the music industry. In the early 2000s and 2010's, he was an audio technician, a booking agent, music promoter, and stage manager. He holds professional certifications in Audio and Master Engineering from the Lexington School of Recording Arts in Lexington, KY.
