I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at the age of 14. I'm not sure just how close it was to killing me before I finally got proper treatment, but I could barely walk up a flight of stairs due to malnourishment and muscle atrophy. I made a great recovery on the medications provided, but that was temporary.
Shortly after I graduated from college pharmaceutical solutions stopped working for me. I dropped to 99 lb.s and was in constant agony. I began to learn about dieting for Crohn's, as well as proper nutrition in general, and used that to nurse myself back to health. I am now active and lead a generally normal life, so long as I stick to my diet.
I've taken a great passion in health and fitness, and spent much of the last 4 years studying it. I hope to distribute the knowledge I've learned so that everyone can benefit from it. I used to think like many others do, that a good body is something you're born with, or will never have. That health and nutritional advice is for the rich and famous.
This couldn't be farther from the truth. Barring those with extreme medical conditions, a fit body is a very real and achievable goal for everyone. A healthy diet is much closer to your reach and budget than you think.
