A mechanical engineering student at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia, Ben Markulec balances a busy academic career with a commitment to a range of civic and community initiatives. From 2015 to 2018, he served on the Youth Advisory Board for the town of Hopewell, NJ, a role in which he collaborated with fellow youth leaders and town officials to develop opportunities for local youth to engage with the community. In this role, Ben Markulec drew on training he received at conferences like the Future Leader Camp at Norwich University, and his experience as a state delegate for the American Legion Boys State program.
In addition to his work as a youth leader, Mr. Markulec gives back to others as a volunteer wrestling coach and referee for local youth wrestling programs.
