I used to say that deliciousness was my primary concern. Over time, I have come to find that I was, slightly, off my mark. People are my primary concern. I’m most interested in the personal interaction between a host and guest.

Hospitality is the vehicle to show a guest our craft. I’m partial to beverage crafts having serious interest in coffee, beer, wine and a balanced cocktail.

Professionally I have spent almost a decade working in specialty coffee taking on multiple rolls at Blue Bottle Coffee and Equator Coffee & Tea. Working as a barista, a green bean buying assistant, traveling to farms in Ethiopia, and working on opening new stores and store development gave me so many valuable vantage points of how hospitality touches everyone in the process.

For the last year and half I was able to experience hospitality in the beer world with Urban Roots Brewing and Smokehouse in Sacramento, a new 350 seat taproom and restaurant. As their opening General Manager I was able to lead design development, value centric culture creation, hired/trained the staff and ran the front of house operations.

I’m now planing to open a wine shop and wine bar in Sacramento. I want to make a place were people can come to taste, learn and enjoy low intervention wines from all over the world.

In my free time I enjoy tasting beverages, reading cookbooks, walking around a new place, playing tennis, shvitzing in a sauna, looking up and laughing.

But that’s enough about me. I’d love to hear more about you.
