Ben began working at the NCSP as a research assistant in May 2012. He has held his current position as Project Coordinator since December 2012, where he works in the Training & Projects Section. In his time at the NCSP, Ben has led development of the Emergency Vehicle Defensive Driving course, IED Dynamics & Recognition suite, and an intermediate-level active shooter response course delivered at the NYS Preparedness Training Center.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University at Albany. He is currently pursuing graduate studies part-time at the Rockefeller College Public Affairs & Policy. He has completed graduate-level coursework in homeland security, political violence, and public management.

Before joining the NCSP, Ben worked as an intern at the SUNY Center for International Development, assisting with research on high level development policy. He also worked as a Researcher for Wikistrat, the world's first crowdsourced geostrategic consultancy.
