Ben Smith
London
I studied International Business and Modern Languages at Aston University, during which time I spent a year in Paris. I worked in management consultancy working with public sector organisations prior to taking a management role at Aston Students’ Union, before returning to consultancy, this time specialising in business strategy working with private sector firms.
Having set up my first commercial venture at the age of 13, I went on to register my first company – Access Regional – in 2011, before creating BKSK Inspire, a social enterprise seeking to inspire current and former youth offenders with enterprise through training, mentoring and support and being a proud member of the Class of 2013 BSeen Business Incubator and Class of 2013 Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs.
I now run Frumtious, an award winning natural food company, as well as working to help individuals develop and grow social enterprises and advocating entrepreneurship through my venture manager role at UnLtd, as well as through writing, speaking and teaching. I sit on the Board of Trustees for Birmingham Town Hall Symphony Hall and alongside a love of the arts, I am a start-up enthusiast, sports fanatic, foodie and gym goer. Recent finalist for both Birmingham Young Professional of the Year and the Chamber of Commerce’s Future Face of Business awards and named in Shell's Hot 48 Young Entrepreneurs of 2014; have developed through business adversity and happy to pass on my experience.
Available for consultancy work, training and public speaking and happy to receive emails.
