Prior to joining Summit Financial and Investment Group, LLC, Ben Powell worked as a Senior Analyst in the Private Wealth Management division at Goldman Sachs & Co. in Salt Lake City, Utah. From January 2002 to July 2005, Ben Powell worked on trades for privately managed accounts at Goldman Sachs; handled trades in equity, foreign, debt, and derivatives; dealt with clients across Asia and America; and held numerous additional responsibilities. During this period, Ben Powell saw increases from $5 billion to $21 billion in his separately managed funds and accounts and earned Series 63 and Series 7 stock broker licenses.
Ben Powell came to Goldman Sachs following more than two years as Senior Retirement Services Specialist for Fidelity Investments, where he shared advice and provided a high level of customer service to retirees throughout the United States of America. Ben Powell laid the foundations for his career in financial services as a branch manager for Zions Bank, where he learned the fundamentals of front-end cash transactions, worked on fraud cases, and kept the bank records current. A resident of Farmington, Utah, Ben Powell holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Brigham Young University and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Utah.
