Hi, I’m Ben Roberts and I love to hike. To me, there is nothing like climbing a mountain and looking down at the entire world. When at the peak of a cliff, I always imagine that this is how God wants everyone to see the world. Earlier in the Summer, my family and I took a trip to Alaska. Everywhere we went there were mountains and cliffs to climb. There was one mountain that stood out to me though. Mount Roberts, 9,000 feet high and in the middle of a bunch of rain clouds, had some of the greatest views ever. It took about 6 hours to get up but it was so worth it. The feeling of accomplishment that we climbed it and the breathtaking views at the top reminded me why I love to hike so much. I had never felt so free in my life. I had nowhere to go so all I had to do was sit back relax and enjoy the scenery. When I’m that high in the sky, I feel so clear. Nothing matters and you don’t have to worry about anything. That is the type of person that I try to be: someone that doesn’t take life too seriously. That is who I am when I hike.
