Ben Tusher

Ben Tusher is a lighting designer for theatre, dance, and opera based in Orange County, California. As an artist in residence for UC Riverside and Chapman University, Ben has designed the lighting for over 30 productions, including musicals, plays, dance concerts, and operas. Ben is the resident designer for Backhausdance and has created lighting, scenic, and sound designs for their award winning repertory since 2005. As the Director of Production and Operations for The Wooden Floor (previously known as Saint Joseph Ballet), Ben has designed lighting for noted choreographers including Donald McKayle, Mark Haim, Sally Silvers, and John Heginbotham. Recent designs include The Margin (Backhausdance), Hamlet (UC Riverside), The Magic Flute (Chapman University), and Zig Zags of Treachery (The Wooden Floor). Ben holds an MFA in Design from UC Irvine.
