ANTHONY GALLI
Student in Toronto, Canada
I am Andrew Berenson, a first-year student at the University of Georgia. Funny enough, I grew up despising the Bulldogs, cheering for the Florida State Seminoles, the university my mom attended. Living in Atlanta, my friends repeatedly rubbed in my face each Florida State loss. Ironically, I moved to Tallahassee, where my love for the Seminoles grew but my hatred for the Bulldogs faded. Four years later, I find myself at the school I once loathed, the university that I now call my home away from home, with friendships and experiences that have made me ever regret cheering against the Dawgs.
Besides which team I root for each Saturday, I find finance and political science fascinating, and I am working towards getting a degree in both. I plan to combine these post-grad and bridge a career between finance and political science.
Outside of the classroom, you will catch me at the gym, pickleball courts, or golf course. While I may not be the most talented golfer, I enjoy going out and playing with friends, sometimes letting my competitive side emerge when my short game is on point. My competitive nature has developed through the influence that football and weightlifting have had on me since middle school. Throughout high school and now in college, I have transformed this competitive nature against others in sports into an ambitious mentality against myself in my studies, pushing me to achieve my academic and professional goals.
