Andrez Bergen is an expat Australian writer, journalist, DJ, musician, artist, and ad hoc saké connoisseur who's been entrenched in Tokyo, Japan, for the past 15 years.

He makes music as Little Nobody and Funk Gadget, ran groundbreaking Melbourne record label IF? for over a decade, currently operates IF? Commix, and writes and illustrates sequential yarns.

Bergen has also written for papers plus 'zines such as Mixmag, The Age, Anime Insider, Australian Style, Impact, Remix, Beat, Zebra, Yomiuri Shinbun, Herald Sun, 3D World, and Geek Magazine.

He published noir/sci-fi novel 'Tobacco-Stained Mountain Goat' in 2011, surreal fantasy 'One Hundred Years of Vicissitude' in 2012, comicbook-homage noir/pulp tome 'Who is Killing the Great Capes of Heropa?' (2013), a collection of short stories and archival articles named 'The Condimental Op' (2013), a surreal coming-of-age tale with crime/noir undertones titled 'Depth Charging Ice Planet Goth' (2014), soft-horror/noir comedy 'Small Change' (2015), and 'Black Sails, Disco Inferno' (2016) — a 1970s disco/crime-filled update of the medieval romance of Tristan & Iseult.

Bergen also makes comics and graphic novels, as writer and occasionally artist, on 'Tales to Admonish', 'Bullet Gal', 'Trista & Holt', 'Magpie', 'Crash Soiree', 'Tobacco-Stained Mountain Goat', and 'Black/White'.

Bergen has published both fiction and comic shorts through Perfect Edge Books, Crime Factory, Shotgun Honey, Dirty Rotten Comics, Snubnose Press, All Due Respect, Comicoz, Open Books, Project-Nerd Publishing, Grayhaven, Solarcide, Weird Noir, Roundfire Fiction, 8th Wonder Press, Under Belly Comics, Big Pulp, Another Sky Press, and IF? Commix.

He also worked on translating and adapting the English language scripts for feature films by Mamoru Oshii ('Ghost in the Shell'), Yoshimi Itazu ('Pigtails'), Kazuchika Kise and Naoyoshi Shiotani, for Production I.G.
