Bernadette Camacho works as an executive assistant at Forrest Inc. in Seaford, New York, while pursuing Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certification at The New School in Manhattan. Concurrent with the program, Bernadette Camacho volunteers at the Tepeyac community center, where she teaches English to adults. Her prior teaching experience includes multiple positions as a bilingual social studies teacher at various New York high schools.
With a previous master’s degree in teaching high school social studies, Bernadette Camacho recently completed several additional advanced degrees in the field of education. In May 2013, she received a master’s degree in ESL at Mercy College. She then obtained a master’s certification in special education at the College of Saint Rose in July 2013.
As a concerned citizen, Ms. Camacho regularly contributes to Feed the Children and Saint Joseph Hospital. The health and fitness enthusiast also enjoys reading and the theater.
