Bernard Parker
Small Business Owner, Consultant, and Project Manager in Philadelphia, PA
Bernard Parker’s non-traditional business acumen began in the music industry in the late 1990s with some of the most prolific and respected names in the entertainment industry. Since then, he has transcended beyond the traditional roles of a writer, producer and engineer by establishing himself as a business advisor. Among the many accomplishments in this role, Parker made his mark on R&B history as the driving force behind what some might view as an insurmountable task – leading the first independent artist to the No. 1 song on Billboard’s Adult R&B Chart in 2016.
Parker built the foundation of his business, Tranzistr.com, on 25 years in the entertainment industry on both the creative and business sides. He is an acclaimed music producer who has represented multi-platinum recording artists and negotiated multimillion dollar publishing deals while also serving in the civic sector on engagement initiatives. Parker’s vision and leadership style of empowering people to seek and fulfill their dreams has made him a confidante to high-ranking artists and executives alike.
During his prolific career, Parker has worked with legendary artists in the industry. Bernard was part of the team that produced the second female hip hop album to ever go No. 1 in Billboard history (Foxy Brown – Chyna Doll, 1999) and sell over a million copies. Parker contributed to Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records by developing 60 percent of the recording artist roster during which time the company produced millions in sales through recordings, merchandising and other channels.
After an 11-year hiatus from the entertainment industry during which time he focused on civic engagement and entrepreneurial endeavors, Parker returned to music in 2013 as an advisor offering services to creative entrepreneurs. His pilot project was with singer/songwriter Guordan Banks, who under Parker’s leadership became the first independent Urban Adult Contemporary artist and label (Bank On It) to score a No. 1 song (“Keep You In Mind,” 2016) on Billboard’s Adult R&B chart, becoming the second most played song in its genre of 2016. Mediabase ranked (Bank On It) the #8 overall Urban Adult Contemporary label in North America with its 3.8% market share, (RCA Records) ranked #1 with 17.91%.
He operates an entertainment management and business development company supporting athletes and entertainers, including former Philadelphia Eagles (Super Bowl Champion) tight end Brent Celek and Banks.
