Since 2009, I have worked as a geospatial technician for ImageLinks where I help to create geographical models used in visual simulation programs often used for pilot training. While working with models and simulators, I became interested in learning how these tools could be used in other forms of training, such as compliance training, professional development, and k-12 or higher education. In 2013, I decided to enroll in the University of Central Florida's master's in Instructional Design & Technology (IDT) program to learn about the principles of designing instruction, and to learn how simulations could be used to maximize learning.
The IDT program at UCF has introduced me to a lot of options for designing effective training and development materials then just focusing on models and simulators.
Upon completing the IDT program at UCF, I plan to transition into the HR department at ImageLinks as an instructional designer.
