Bernie Mermelstein
International Businessman in Queens, New York
An experienced business executive, Bernie Mermelstein is the owner and CEO at MZ Berger & Co., a purveyor of electronic and apparel accessories with offices in the United States, Canada, and Hong Kong. He joined the company, cofounded by his father, in 1970 and has since aimed to capitalize on new opportunities for growth. With a focus in producing quality watches, Bernie Mermelstein oversees six additional product divisions that supply more than 10 million product units to retailers each year.
In addition to leading his business, Bernie Mermelstein maintains an active role in the community by donating to local religious organizations, such as Young Israel of Great Neck. He also sponsored the building of a sports center in Sderot, Israel, and he has funded Nefesh B’Nefesh, which helps members of the Jewish faith complete Aliyah, or the emigration to Israel.
Mr. Mermelstein earned a BA in history at Yeshiva University in New York City. Furthering his education, he completed a juris doctor at New York Law School.
