Hi everyone! I have been looking for new and innovative ways to teach my students. The twist is that I have to find these things all in Spanish! I am just starting out as a 5th grade Spanish Immersion teacher this year and I'm so nervous and excited at the same time. I have worked with all of the students at this school, but this will be my first time with my own classroom. I have worked professionally with children since 1998 and am very excited to continue with this new path that I am on. I am married with 4 children and many different kinds of pets in my house. I love to garden during the summer and I would do it all year long if I could. I'm also a strong advocate for healthy, natural and organic foods so having my own garden suits me this way. I have been nervous about Math since I was a Junior in High School. I had a very good experience with my Algebra class but a horrible one with my Geometry class. Therefore I thought I was just "not a Math person". Now I know that I can be a Math person and it's not as hard or as bad as I thought it would be. I plan to teach my own students about this revelation and hope to help them fight their Math fears and find their connection to Math in their lives.
