I've packed many lives into this one: nun, wife, widow, divorcee, single parent, brereaved mother, and have been happily remarried for 18 years. I live on Minnesota's North Shore of Lake Superior during the warm months and in Florida during ice-over.

I am the author of The Scent of God: A Memoir (Counterpoint 2006 hardcover, Counterpoint 2007 paper) and A View of the Lake (Lake Superior Port Cities Inc 2011) and was, for 10 years, a columnist with the Cook County News Herald, a local newspaper with a national subscription list. I have been published in Lake Superior Magazine, The Trenton Times, Your Life Magazine, The Sun Magazine, Minnesota Monthly, The Himalayan Path, the anthology Surviving Ophelia, edited by Cheryl Dellasega, Ph.D. (Perseus Publishing, 2001), and The New Writer's Handbook, Vol. 2, edited by Philip Martin with preface by Ted Kooser, U.S. Poet Laureate (Scarletta Press 2008).

I am currently at work on the sequel to The Scent of God, tentatively named The Glass Calyx: a mother’s journey from darkness to light as her daughter descended into depression and drug abuse and died violently (unresolved death) in 2001 at the age of 24.
