Hi, I’m Patrick Bet-David—author of Your Next Five Moves and Choose Your Enemies Wisely, entrepreneur, and the creator of Valuetainment and the PBD Podcast. I build content, companies, and communities for ambitious people who want to think more clearly, execute faster, and win on their own terms.

Give First, Then Build

My philosophy is simple: lead with value. Whether it’s a podcast conversation, a long-form lesson on business strategy, or an event where operators learn from operators, I aim to give away the playbook—frameworks, case studies, and mental models—so others can sharpen their edge and create outsized outcomes. That “give first” approach underpins Valuetainment, the PBD Podcast, and my books, all focused on practical, battle-tested advice for founders, executives, and creators.

What I Do

• Host, PBD Podcast — daily conversations on business, leadership, current events, and culture with operators, thinkers, and newsmakers.
• Author — Your Next Five Moves (WSJ #1 bestseller) and Choose Your Enemies Wisely (Portfolio/Penguin). Both distill strategic thinking into moves you can execute Monday morning.
• Builder — previously founded PHP Agency in 2009, scaling a large life-insurance sales organization before exiting years later. Those lessons on recruiting, culture, and scale show up across my content.

Why I Care

I came to the U.S. as a refugee kid from Iran, served in the U.S. Army, and learned business the hard way—by starting, failing, and iterating. Today, I pay that forward by creating tools (content, courses, conferences) that help people turn ambition into competence and competence into results.
