Bethanie Vong
Photographer, Content Creator, and Marketing in Toronto, ON, Canada
Hi, I’m Bethanie Vong. I’m currently a second-year Media Production student at Ryerson University. I was born in Toronto but was raised in a small city named Macau. At the age of sixteen, I decided to come back to Toronto to pursue my career.
In my first year coming back, I have spent my time creating digital content for Coco Fresh Juice & Tea in Markham, Toronto as a freelance videographer. My team and I created a commercial to advertise what CoCo stands for.
I also worked as a freelance photographer for the Mon Sheong Foundation in Markham, Toronto. My job allowed me to develop my skillset in Adobe but also to collaborate with the team to offer any improvements.
In 2018, I graduated from Alexander Mackenzie High School in Richmond Hill, Ontario with a Photography award donated by Edge Imaging.
After high school, I decided to attend Ryerson University for RTA Media Production to pursue my career in the digital media industry. During the past year, Ryerson University allowed me to collaborate with professionals in my industry. With Ryerson giving out chances, I got to become a Podcast Host for Ryerson’s radio, SpiritLive.
I am pursuing my goal in advertising because I have always been interested in marketing and analyzing the different strategies to target a demographic. Not only that, but I enjoy the process of using different digital mediums to create an aesthetics that a company stands for. In a few years, I see myself working in a digital media agency as a content creator which will allow me to work with different mediums such as creating posters, commercial ads, designing for magazine covers.
