I live in San Francisco and work for the Innovation Hangar - a building and place that is easy to fall in love with. My job is to bring in new, interesting exhibits AND interesting events. Our events and exhibits have a focus on inspiration and education. The range of exhibits feature artwork from our very own SFUSD students, to an exhibit on the history of nuclear weapons and why the movement to eliminate them is so important. Other exhibits are focused on the maker movement and how IoT (Internet of Things) will change the future of cities and our personal lives.
As for my history - I grew up in Mississippi. I decided to leave in my late 20's and learn more about the rest of the country. I have lived in the Bay Area 3 times and continue to call it my home. I enjoyed living in Chicago, South Florida, Austin TX, and Geneva Switzerland. I have had jobs in both the corporate sector and in Non-profits. I have been VP of Fundraising for the public school PTA, a teacher in San Jose public schools about character building and acceptance of differences, a career in telecommunications, and this is my latest chapter.
