Beth Lewis Maze

I was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and raised in the small town of Benton, where I learned the importance of hard work, integrity, and serving others. My father was a trial lawyer and state representative, and my mother was an elementary school principal. Watching their dedication to their work and community shaped who I became.

As a young girl, I decided I wanted to become an attorney after sitting through a trial with my father when I was just nine years old. Throughout high school, I stayed active as a cheerleader, served as Student Council President, and worked as a lifeguard at Kentucky Dam State Park. Those experiences taught me responsibility, discipline, and the value of earning everything through hard work.

I attended the University of Kentucky, graduating with honors in Political Science and Education. One of the most meaningful experiences of my college years was completing my student teaching in Quito, Ecuador, which broadened my perspective and reinforced the importance of adapting to new challenges. I later earned my law degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law.

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to serve others in meaningful ways, but I believe my greatest lessons have come from the people I've met and the experiences I've had along the way. Today, I enjoy reflecting on those experiences and sharing what I've learned about perseverance, leadership, and personal growth.

I believe success isn't defined by titles or awards. It's built one decision at a time through honesty, preparation, resilience, and treating people with respect. My hope is to encourage others—especially young people—to work hard, stay curious, give back to their communities, and never stop learning. Those principles have guided my life, and I believe they remain just as important today as ever.
