The .25-20 WCF, also known as the .25-20 Winchester Center Fire, is a historical cartridge that originated in the late 19th century. It was developed by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1893 and gained popularity for its use in lever-action rifles. The ".25" in its name signifies a bullet diameter of approximately .257 inches, while the "20" denotes the powder charge in grains. This is a centerfire, rimmed cartridge, using a centrally located primer and a rim for solid headspacing.
