I teach fourth grade at Harding Elementary School in Mason City. This is my third year teaching, and is my second year in the Mason City Community School District. Prior to coming here, I taught 3rd grade in Mount Vernon, which has prepared me and given me a better understanding of where my future 4th graders will be coming from educationally, emotionally, and developmentally. I am excited to help my students achieve their potential and learn from the professionals around me.

I grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but have family connections to Mason City with my mom having been a former student of Harding Elementary when it was a K-6 building. I went to the University of Northern Iowa and majored in Elementary Education while minoring in K-8 Mathematics Education, K-8 Reading and Literacy Education. I absolutely loved my time at UNI and am incredibly proud to be a Panther for life! I will be getting my Master's Degree from UNI as well in Instructional Technology in the near future. I am also currently working on becoming a Google Certified Teacher through Google's online Web Academy.

When I am not teaching, I like to be actively involved in the community whether it be through church or supporting my students outside of school. I am also currently working on authoring a book and will be speaking at the ITEC (Iowa Technology Education Connect) Conference in October 2014, as well as speaking at an International Technology Conference in 2016.
