Bhumika Jayashankar
software developer in EPICS at Arizona State University
I am a recent graduate student from Arizona State University, where I completed my Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) on May 8th, 2023. With a keen interest in Software Engineering and Development (Backend, Frontend, Full-Stack, Testing), I am actively seeking full-time roles where I can make a positive impact and help the team achieve its goals.
Currently, I'm working as a Software Developer at Arizona State University under Dr. Broberg on the "School Fuel" project. The objective of this project is to detect underperforming K-12 students and alert the corresponding teachers with actionable insights. My role has involved designing AWS data pipelines and development using Java and SQL.
Last summer, I interned at Amazon Web Services as a Software Development Engineer. There, I took the lead in developing an end-to-end EC2 Recommendation-based cloud application, from environment setup to architecting and deploying a lambda function-based microservice across multiple AWS regions. Here, I used Java, Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, TypeScript, AWS S3, EC2, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, and other AWS cloud-native technologies. This project streamlined our internal architecture and notably reduced bug-fixing times.
Apart from that, I have around 2+ years of work experience as a Full-Stack Developer at Manhattan Associates. During this tenure, I developed robust and scalable web-based applications that enhanced the user experience for millions of customers. I used technologies such as Java, Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Hibernate, MySQL, MongoDB, AngularJS, and GCP.
