Hi! My name is Jamie Bierman and I live in New York City and Chicago. With my biggest passions inlife being business, people, and basketball, I am studying management andmarketing at the Kelley School of Business in hopes of one day discovering ajob that leads me to attain my goals and aspirations.
One of my biggest passions is nonprofit work. Before leaving for Indiana University in August 2014, I came across a Today Show special on the nonprofit, “Love Your Melon.” Since then, I have become an ambassador for The Love Your Melon Foundation, providing therapeutic entertainment and hats to children battling cancer duringtheir difficult cancer treatment processes. Although I am nodoctor, by combining my passion for business and people, I am now able to helpbetter the lives of millions of people on daily basis by simply doing what Ilove.
In high school, I was an activestudent in both the Spanish and Mandarin Honors Societies. Mandarin class, throughout high school, was a journey of self-discovery. Embracing my differences, rather than attemptingto overcome them, is what truly makes me diverse. The time I have spent in culturally diverse communities, coupled with my experiences as a foreigner visiting China with my school’s Mandarin Honors Society, gives me a unique outlook on life and the capacity to participate fluently in a given culture.
I am a huge advocate for finding the best in others whilebringing out the best in yourself. Because everyone is human, I prioritize my friends and family and use these aspects of my life to motivate my success inall my endeavors.
