Larger than life is just one of the ways in which Big Al can be described! But we put a series of questions to him to find out what we could...
So how did it all begin?
At first? I used to be a retail manager and one of the very first presenters on 96.2 The Revolution was having an IT problem and mentioned it on-air. I offered my services and never went home after that!
Where did the name come from?
Are you serious?
What was your first record you bought?
Jona Lewis - Stop The Cavalry
What's you favourite tune of all time?
Incognito - Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing or Wings - Live And Let Die
When all the partying is over how do you like to chill out?
Partying? I'm 44 years old, for goodness sake!
What's is your real name?
Where do you live?
Do you work for the tax man, or something?
How big is your vinyl collection?
It's massive! I have 7 records...
Funniest thing that ever happened to you on-air?
Either Carmen Electra refusing to sing Happy Birthday to me, when asked by another presenter, or Peter Kay doing funny links about me for one of his Christmas Specials.
Other presenters you rate?
Maaaan, they are all sooo good at The Rev! Personally I love Owen's style. He just makes me chuckle.
Do you have any quirks?
I will only ever use my own headphones, nobody else's and I can't talk on-air unless I have a pen in my hand! Don't ask!
I told you not to ask! It's my comfort blanket...
Who's the biggest diva at The Revolution?
Nigel the geek. You won't know him.
What about other presenters?
Err... me, I suppose!
Do you always go for the easy options?
Yes, can I go now please?
