Bill Malkes

William (Bill) A. Malkes is a serial entrepreneur who has founded multiple companies across diverse product lines. Malkes and his longtime business partner Vig Sherrill founded four companies together, including ASIC International (Ai), that was purchased by Flextronics (NASDAQ: FLEX) and Tradewind Technologies that was acquired by Sirit (TSX:SI) and his current venture, GRIDSMART Technologies, Inc., where he serves as Chief Executive Officer.

Malkes’ companies have raised over $125 million in venture capital, including a consolidation strategy called Health Care Solutions (HCS) where he served as Executive Vice President and CFO. During his tenure at HCS, the company successfully completed and integrated 13 acquisitions and launched 8 joint ventures while raising over $100 million in risk capital to serve the home health care space. HCS was acquired by Lincare Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:LNCR).

Bill graduated Summa cum laude from the University of Detroit-Mercy and began his professional career as a CPA at KPMG Peat Marwick. He has completed the International Negotiations Program at Harvard University and the Biotech Executive Program at the Vanderbilt Owen School of Management.

Following being a Christian father and husband, Bill is most satisfied in creating over 1,000 full-time fair paying jobs in his career through founding companies and deploying risk capital in non-traditional regions for venture capital.
